Northern Burlington Soccer Club

History and Purpose of Club

The Northern Burlington Soccer Club has just entered its 9th year in existence and is comprised of both boys and girls teams with players from the Northern Burlington area.

The Northern Burlington Soccer Club was created to provide a higher level of soccer to the Northern Burlington County Regional High School (NBCRHS) sending area. The main objectives of this program are to develop quality soccer players for their future years at NBCRHS.The development will be made by providing 10 months a year of quality training, indoor and outdoor tournaments, and playing at the highest level of competitive travel leagues available to each team.

The club, started in 1998 by Vince Castaldo, has helped produce many fine players who are now members of the soccer teams at NBCRHS. Our club's boys teams currently play in the South Jersey Soccer League (SJSL) and girls teams who play in the South Jersey Girls Soccer League (SJGSL). Many of the boys who were members of the Northern Burlington High School team of 2001 and earned the South Jersey Group II championship and were runners-up in the state final played in the Northern Burlington Soccer Club. We are very interested in developing the skills of these players in order to enhance the soccer program at the Regional School. The club has always provided an opportunity to play soccer during the fall, winter (indoor) and spring seasons up to the age of U-14. After that time, fall soccer is reserved for participation at the high school level, while winter and spring continue as options. The summer is traditionally a rest and vacation period, however, the club does schedule an annual summer soccer camp.

In an effort to strengthen the soccer programs at our Regional Middle and High Schools, we offer additional support by attending as many of the High School games as possible and other soccer functions and by joining the school soccer club. Our coaches and players are encouraged to participate in and support the area’s recreational soccer program which is used as a building-block for the development of a stronger travel program. The recreation program is comprised of children primarily from the Chesterfield, Mansfield, North Hanover and Springfield townships, as well as Ft. Dix and Maguire. Children from Bordentown, Allentown and New Egypt have also participated. The recreation programs play in the Midlands Youth Soccer League and are affiliated with New Jersey Youth Soccer.
